Brief Biology:

Snails and Slugs can become and annoying pests.  Usually in garden and landscape areas.  Snails and Slugs are similiar in biology, except the slugs lack the hard shell.  Adults lay about 80 eggs at a time in the soil or under leaves.  Snails and Slugs are active at night.  The silvery trails or damage to plants are an indication of their presence.  In proper environmental conditions, snails and slugs can be active year around.  They feed on living plants and decaying organic material.  They will also damage ripening fruit and vegitables that are near the ground. 

Treatment Methods:

Eliminate areas where slugs hide, nest, and reproduce.  Pull weeds, remove stones and boards, remove all decaying organic matter, and remove dense foilage that provides sheltering areas for snails and slugs during the day.  Second, you want to scatter the bait around the infested areas.  Remember, this product is safe around pets, children, birds, fish, and other wildlife.  This product will cause the snails and slugs to cease feeding.  It might take several days for the snails to die.  But they will!  This product can also be scattered on lawns or on the soil around any vegetables, ornamentals, or fruit trees.  Sprinkle these baits in areas that snails and slugs regularly visit, for example, sprinkler heads.  Placing baits in the same locations maximizes control because these snails and slugs tend to return to the same food source sites.  Usually bait during the late afternoon and you may irrigate to promote  optimal conditions.  Search for locations that snails and slugs are active and treat in those locations.
