Brief Biology:

Indian Meal Moths and Clothes Moths.  Indian Meal Moths infest grain, dried fruit, dried vegetables, seeds, nuts, crackers, and dog food.  When infested, you will usually see a web-like particles in the infested food.  Most infestations are purchased and brought into the home. 

 Treatment Methods:

Indian Meal Moths 

First, you want to inspect all dried foods and discard infested product.  Search for product with web-like material or little white worms (Larva).  Once infested food is discarded, you want to make sure any dried products you have in your pantry is sealed in air tight containers and place in the refridgerator for a few weeks until Indian Meal Moth infestation is controlled.  Extreme Heat or Cold will kill eggs and larva as well.

Clothes Moths

Dry Cleaning kills all stages of the Clothes Moths.  Seal Clothes in an air tight container and place a DDVP (dichlorvos) pest strip with your clothes will help reduce infestations in your closet.
