Brief Description:
The Three Most Likely Home Invaders are the House Crickets, Field Crickets, Camel Crickets. The Mole
Cricket will do damage to the ornamental turf by eating the location wheree the root meets the grass blades. These are the most
common intruders of a structure or landscape.
House Cricket is approximately 1 inch long. House crickets are nocturnal,
and their food source is paper, silk, wool, and many other types of products. Strongly attracted to light. House Crickets
are a slight yellow brown in color. Enter buildings in late summer early fall. Eggs are laid in the soil. Each House
cricket can lay 100 eggs, which hatch into Nymphs. Nymphs look like a smaller version of the adult.
Field
Crickets the most common is the Black Field Crickets, which are dark brown to black in color. An inch and 3/4 long
with rounded wings. Field Crickets live outside, but will occasionally intrude interior looking for a warm location during the
early fall and late summer time frames. Noticed from their loud chirping. Located in overgrown grassy areas, flower beds,
and lawns. Lay eggs in the soil. Nymphs look like a smaller version of the Adults. Life Cycle of a Field
Cricket is about 90 days. Food source are plants. These crickets are attracted to light.
Powerful Jumpers and
harmless. They are wingless, so they do not chirp. Live through the winter, and lay their eggs in the spring. Nymphs
hatch a few weeks later. Nymphs look like a smaller version of the adults.
Treatment Methods:
Professionals
will use a combonation of pest control products which include liquid insecticides and baits to treat cricket infestations.
Chemical treatment measures for The House Crickets, Field Crickets, and Camel Crickets are all applied in the same manner.
Use Liquid Insecticides where the infestations is taking place. For example, if you see an infestation of crickets in your crawl
space, use some of the best micro-encapsulated (pest control products applied on porous surfaces with minimal penetration of
surface) products used by professionals are Tempo Ultra SC, Cykick CS, and Suspend SC. You can also
use Bifen IT to treat cricket infestations. These liquid insecticides are mixed in a 1 gallon sprayer to the proper
dilution, then you want to spray the surface where you see the cricket infestation. Treatment using bait,
such as, (Niban or MotherEarth are the best pest control products to treat cricket infestions. These products has
easy handle for delivery of the product so no special equipment is needed. Depending on your treatment area and location
will dictate how much bait will be placed. Each product page will have msds and labels on how to apply. Our professional
pest control technicians usually carry a 4lb Jug of Bait in their vehicles.
Apply liquid insecticides to entry locations, for example,
window frames, door frames, exterior foundation, basements, and garages. Treat areas where large infestations are located.
Once liquid has dried, you may apply bait around areas where infestations have occured. Interior treat along baseboards and
other areas where crickets are located.
When controlling Mole Crickets, you want to apply Granules Exterior, Liquid Insecticides,
and Baits. Mole Crickets can cause serious damage to your lawn. Treat the infested locations with these
formulations of product for best results.
565 Plus XLO is a contact insecticide. Active ingredients are pyrethrins and dual synergists. Used for quick knock down,
flushing, and contact insecticide.
Bifen I/T active ingredient is Bifenthrin. 3 month residual. Same active ingredient as Talstar One.
CB-38 Extra active ingredients are pyrethrins and PBO, technical. Used for flushing and contact insecticide. A powerful
food area pyrethrin insecticide.
Conquer has an active ingredient of Esfenvalerate. This product is a residual insecticide maintaining protection over a period
of time. Industry favorite.
Cykick CS active ingredient is Cyfluthrin. 90 day residual protection. Flowable Microencapsulated concentrate.
Cykick CS Aerosol active ingredient is Cyfluthrin. Contact and residual action (long-term protection over a period of time).
Indoor / Outdoor use. 17.5oz can. This product has multiple pests on the label. Very popular!
DeltaDust has an active ingredient of Deltamethrin. Indoor / Outdoor use. Moisture resistant. A Hand Bellow is needed
to apply product (sold separately). Industry favorite.
DeltaGard G are granules spread in a lawn or turf. Active ingredient is Deltamethrin. A hand spreader (sold separately)
is an item used by professionals to apply.

Niban Easy Handle Bait active ingredient orthoboric acid. Use this product for Cricket control; however, Niban also
controls ants, roaches, and silverfish, snails, and slugs. Indoor / outdoor use. Water resistant. Pest control
professionals choice for cricket infestations.
Niban FG Fine Granular Bait active ingredient is orthoboric acid. Use this product for Cricket control; however, Niban FG (fine
granular) is also used to control ants, roaches, silverfish, snails, and slugs. Indoor / outdoor use. Water resistant.
This product is a finer granular than the regular Niban.
